Dr. Dirks is a former minister (deacon) of the United Methodist Church. He holds a Master's degree in Divinity from Harvard University and a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Denver. Author of "The Cross and the Crescent: An Interfaith Dialogue between Christianity and Islam" (2001), and

"Abraham: The Friend of God" (2002). He has published over 60 articles in the field of clinical psychology, and over 150 articles on Arabian horses.









The early life and education of Dr. Jerald Dirks , a Harvard Hollis scholar and author of the book The Cross and the Crescent, disillusioned by Christianity due the information learnt in its School of Theology.

In this lecture he discusses his conversion from Christianity to Islam.

Dr. Jerald F. Dirks holds A.B. and M.Div. degrees from Harvard University and an M.A. and Psy.D. from the University of Denver. He is the author of The Cross and the Crescent, Abraham Friend of God, Understanding Islam A Guide for the Judaeo-Christian Reader, and The Abrahamic Faiths, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Dr. Dirks has lectured widely throughout the United States and Canada on comparative religion and has been interviewed about Islam by several American newspapers and by American, Canadian, and Arabic television stations

Dr Jerald F. Dirks
Dr. Jerald F. Dirks (born 1950, Kansas) is a former ordained Methodist minister, Muslim convert and popular author of several books on Islam and Christianity.

Education

Dr. Dirks enrolled at Harvard College as a philosophy major in 1967. He was named a Hollis Scholar, signifying that he was a top pre-theology students in the college. He worked as a youth minister at a fairly large United Methodist Church during his freshman and sophomore years. He graduated in 1971 and was admitted to the Harvard Divinity School thereafter, from where he graduated with a Master's degree in Divinity. During his seminary education, he also completed a two-year externship program as a hospital chaplain at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. He also holds a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Denver.
